Dear Nicholas Sparks,

possible spoiler(s) alert!!

I remember walking into the airport bookstore and having to choose a book, it was a challenge…as I read the synopsis of a number of books trying to find the perfect one. I saw a book that caught my eye, “A Walk To Remember” as I read the synopsis I was intrigued by the suspense of the tragedy and the number of emotions in the book, I had never read this genre so when I started reading it..a cloud of numerous different emotions hit me, the beautiful way the story revolves around love, all forms of love, friends, lovers, family..the warmth and laughter..the tenderness and tragedy, all of these strong emotions compressed into 200 pages. I personally loved the way the story started with Landon Carter narrating the flashback..but my absolute favourite thing was the way the story got its title..the book was so captivating and the characters so mesmerising that I found myself smiling when the characters smiled, crying when the characters cried and most importantly understanding all the characters’ emotions. When the book says “it was, I remembered thinking, the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make. In every way, a walk to remember” I felt a number of emotions..my heart was heavy but at the same time it was smiling as Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter get their “happily ever after” atleast for some time..no matter how many times I read the book I find myself reading with the same zest and curiosity, it never gets boring..this epic love story wasn’t just about love and fantasy, it portrayed the difficulties and realities of life and how everyone in this book fought through them..when Jamie passes away, melancholy in every form hits me..I guess this is how captivating this masterpiece was. Thankyou for executing your skill and expertise in the most charming way possible!

Favourite Quote – “I don’t think that we’re meant to understand it all the time. I think that sometimes we just have to have faith ”

Songs that this book reminds me of : Everglow – Coldplay and Kabira (Encore) – Pritam, Harshdeep and Arijit Singh and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (the poem) – Shah Rukh Khan
